A Sneak Peek at Violet's Flame!

Hey, guys! Just because I'm nice, and also considering the fact that it is eleven at night and I am writing in Violet's Flame, I decided to give you guys a short preview of Violet's Flame! Yay! I will only give you guys a part of the first chapter instead of the whole chapter due to the fact that this chapter is longer than I had originally planned. Here you go!

Chapter One

“Where am I?” Steve asked suddenly, startling me and Candy. I jumped up from my bed and practically ran over to him, feeling his head for any fevers. “He’s finally awake?” Candy, my little six year old companion, asked as she rubbed her eyes and made her way over to me. I felt a surge of relief when I felt Steve’s small horns poking out gently beneath his hair.
Yeah, you heard me right. You see, Steve and I are a special kind of creature called the ‘Dragon Kin’, while Candy is a regular mutant child called a ‘Moleworm’. Up until a few hours ago, I hadn’t realized that Steve was a Dragon Kin, same as me. Our guardian, Aaron Richard, is the same as me, as well as a boy named Severin. My heart pulled uncomfortably at the thought of him, and I had to fight a sudden urge of tears that threatened to spill. Presently, we are in some part of Canada, and Aaron was at the library, using one of their computers to buy all of us a plane ticket to New Orleans to find Severin. He had been kidnapped by the Dragon Kin Hunters in their attempt to steal my blood, and now they were holding him captive somewhere in New Orleans, doing who-knows-what to him.
“Don’t freak out, but you aren’t in Wisconsin anymore,” I told him softly, feeling a familiar rush of heat when he grasped my hand. We had met him in Wisconsin, the place where he had supposedly grown up. “Then where am I? How did I get here?” he asked, and would have been in a panic if his body wasn’t so weak from just waking up from the treatment of the Draki Blood, the blood of our ancestors that helps us become what we are. Right after the attack from the Dragon Kin Hunters, right after Severin had gotten kidnapped, Aaron had brought us home and injected his own blood into Steve’s arm. He had passed out after that, and that is where we are right now.
“Listen, we’ll explain later, when Aaron gets back. For now, just rest,” I told him, gently but firmly. Then I blushed at the absurdity of what I was asking. How can someone go back to resting when they didn’t know where they were? Steve’s hand was still grasping my hand tightly, so hard it began to bruise.

This is all that I will give ya'll for now. Don't be greedy and try to ask me for more, because I think I might add a little bit more at a later time. That is all for now, so I guess I'll see ya'll later!
